One of our new designers shared some info with us about herself so i’m passing it onto all of you.

Karen Jones is a new designer here at DigiScrapStation and goes by the designer name Karen’s Scraps and Graphics. She is from Australia and has been married 27 years. Her and her husband have two adult children. Their son has autism and she started out making autism awareness graphics/tags to spread autism awareness. Karen then went on to make full sized scrap items. Karen loves designing and found it is where she belongs. She hopes to continue learning and designing for many years to come.

Hi there,

I wanted to let you and Karen know about a campaign that I am working on with The AEIOU Foundation to raise money and awareness for autism.

It’s called Communication Shutdown and more than 40 countries are working together to challenge the world’s 4.5 billion social media users to shutdown their Facebook and or Twitter accounts on 01 November in support of autism.

As you would probably know, people with autism find social communication a struggle and so by shutting down your social networks, you can have some idea of what that disconnect feels like.

We have developed a charity app or CHAPP, which is received when a $5 (or more) donation is made at the campaign website http://www.communicationshutdown.org.

The clever CHAPP connects with your Facebook and Twitter account and shows your friends or followers that you are taking part by placing a shutdown badge over your profile picture.

We would love to have your support and can send you more information, video links, graphics and images.

Thanks so much in advance,
Lou
