I’ve been lurking about the gallery again and wanted to show you these layouts because its really nice to see people stepping out of the square on occasion:

This layout is by TonysMamaDesigns. In Warhol style with the coloured repeats, that facet of the layout alone would make a great poster. You’ve got the photo on top serving as reference. There are lots of ‘boxes’ and long lines in this layout and so placing it on the radial background was a brilliant decision - giving the illusion of more space using (once again) long lines. While this may be looked on as a ’simple’ layout - it is often difficult (for me, anyway) to achieve such balance in composition. Well done!

Then there’s this one, by Cindy_rs. Overall it is pretty pleasing. There are 16 places where photos could’ve been placed, but only four slots have been used for this purpose. This keeps the subjects the main focal points. The framing has been used like a decorative wall box frame - almost like a wall unit. A few well placed elements, this layout conveys a lot of information that is easy to pick up quickly. It would have been so easy to clutter this kind of framing. Well done!

I think I am inspired!

When layouts catch your eye, try to figure out why - it will only help you with your own work.

All for now, Mina :)
